Eyejot is a new video messaging application that launched on the weekend. The site allows users to create video messages and send them to people, either via email or Eyejot messaging. Messages are played back from the Eyejot webpage, either in the inbox of the Eyejot account holder or on a webpage for those without Eyejot accounts.

The site incorporates a number of cool features that you won't find elsewhere. First off, an Eyejot widget allows you to incorporate messaging into any webpage. This is a neat feature: you don't have to login to Eyejot in order to download or view your messages.

Secondly, an iTunes RSS feed allows you to view your messages on your iPod. Once you've subscribed to your iTunes feed, you can sync it automatically in the morning to your iPod, then watch all your Eyejots on the train or bus on your way to work. (For those of you wondering how this is done, since the iPod doesn't play Flash video, the Eyejot server will encode your Flash video into MP4 format.) This feature didn't work for me, but if they fixt the bug then this could be a killer feature.

Finally, there's a tab under the Services menu for mobile support. I'm not sure what this entails, but as FlashLite expands onto mobile devices, this could prove to be very useful.

Eyejot was shown publicly at the Demo conference last week, and received a number of good reviews. CNET says that it was one of the top 5 presentations at Demo, as was Adobe Apollo.

The site is built using Adobe Flex, and is one of the first public websites built using Flex 2.
