Get Things Done with this GTD Flex application

Send to friendPrinter-friendly version

I started reading a book a few months ago called Getting Things Done by David Allen (I highly recommend it). The book gives great tips on how to organize your life and create a workflow for yourself that actually helps you get things done. There's a certain process and setup that you need to follow the advice in the book, and in fact there is a fairly large following of people who subscribe his theory. (Most of the applications, websites and blogs etc... use the acronym GTD.) On my Mac, I use a program called iGTD, which is free, and constantly updated. Its a great tool to help organize my work.

I'm a pretty big fan of GTD, which is why I was excited to see a GTD Flex application being added to the Flex showcase. The application supports a number of projects and contexts, as most GTD apps do. Actions are easily added, with data being stored back on the server. (The site appears to be running PHP on the backend.)

The application is obviously early in the development cycle, but shows promise. An Adobe AIR application would be high on my list of features to add, so the data is available even when I'm not connected to the Internet. Check it out if you're interested in getting things done, and provide feedback to the developer on how to improve the application.

Thanks for the post!

Hi Mike,

I'm the developer of NeutrineGTD. Thanks for post.
The application is running Ruby on Rails on the backend.

Can't get past login

I went to create a registered user, with the email address listed above. The only problem is I can't login.
The problem was that for some reason the keyhandler or whatever it is, was not geared to a person who can type more than 2 letters per 10 minutes. What that means is that every time I typed a letter I had to wait 2 mins before I could type the next character.

So that means that when I went to change the username that I registered with I can't, and that also means I have to register with a new email address. But the pain of this is wtf with the input handler being so slow on the key inputting that it misses some letters that you have typed?

Anyway I wont be visting these comments again, so I will not get to see if you fixed this issue or not.

Great work so far... Any ideas on what future plans you have for it?

Mike

Improve it

I'm planning to create a Adobe AIR version and a mobile version for it, and add more functionalities too.
