Flex Jobs Continue Amazing Growth

Send to friendPrinter-friendly version

Recently, as I've been doing presentations on Flex, I've had to update slides that I normally show. One of the slides I normally show is the job trends for Flex based on the numbers at Indeed.com, a job aggregation website. I posted a few months ago about them, but thought that the numbers deserved an updated blog post.

Since the last post, Flex has continued its amazing growth. In fact, not only are the Flex job numbers increasing (above), but the percentage growth of new jobs is also growing (below).

Indeed.com also has results for salary, though I'm not sure how accurate those numbers are.

A more optimistic number...

Try searching for "Flex Developer" instead of "Adobe Flex". I find that fewer jobs match "Adobe Flex" since people don't always include "Adobe" in their job descriptions just like companies don't request "Sun Java" or "Microsoft C#". You end up with salaries of 93K instead of 77K.

still a tad low

Even at 93K for "Flex Developer" I think that looks a little low. I'd expect something in the 100-115K range.

I'd like to see what the balance is between Flex pulling developers and jobs from other technologies and creating new prospects?
