According to this blog post, Flash support is coming soon on the iPhone. It remains to be seen which version of Flash will be supported on the phone (FlashLite or the full Flash Player), but keep in mind that the iPhone uses a stripped down version of OS X. To me that would imply that the player will be Flash Player 9, which would include support for Flex applications.

flash lite would be useless
flash lite would be useless on the iphone, imho. It wouldn't run regular flash apps in the browser. I can only imagine it has to be a flash player plugin for safari, and that it would have to be flash 9. The Nokia n800 has flash 9 in its browser and that's Linux.
Good point - I don't know
Good point - I don't know much about FL, but I was assuming that FL would take over the Flash apps in the browser. If it doesn't do that, then you're right, only the full Flash Player would be useful.

I'm guessing a full Flash 9
I'm guessing a full Flash 9 implementation, but remember that the ARM processor in the iPhone is way slower than an Intel dual core CPU, and Flex apps can easily send my MacBook into 40% CPU usage (on both cores).
I also suspect that given the restrictions on Ajax apps on MobileSafari (memory usage, time allowed for JavaScript to complete) that Apple will have requested similar restrictions in Flash.
