PollEverywhere - Live SMS Voting for US Residents

Poll Everywhere is a hosted SMS voting system for US cellular phone customers. Everyone from a small blogger to a large corporation can sign up for an account and have Poll Everywhere host SMS vote contests. Pricing ranges from free to $370 per month, depending on the number of votes being cast and the number of votes allowed per month. I've created a sample poll and embedded it into my blog below.

This service is nearly identical to LiveVote.ca, which I've covered before on RIApedia. However, LiveVote only works in Canada, and Poll Everywhere only works for US cell phone customers.

The voting display is handled using Flex and the Flex charting components.

Nice write-up. I would like

Nice write-up. I would like to point out some differences between LiveVote and our product. For starters, our product is designed more for live audiences than non-live audiences (though both can be served with Poll Everywhere). Secondly, we provide support for embedding polls into PowerPoint, which is extremely valuable to people that want to incorporate polls directly into their presentations without skipping a beat to do so. Thirdly, we support a mix of both web voting and text message voting simultaneously. It becomes possible to support a live audience and perhaps a global or international audience that might not be able to participate via text message to vote over the web on the same poll in real-time. Fourth, we provide excellent support and are available anytime by phone. Sometimes, customers often aren't aware they sometimes need support or think it is important to them (until they really, really need it). Fifthly, our pricing is straight-forward. We don't discriminate pricing just because you are holding a large event. It is very clear up front how much it costs.
