If you're looking for work as a Flex developer, you shouldn't be for too long. Recently I've seen a marked increase in the number of companies looking for Flex developers. And at MAX North America last week in Chicago, I met a company that was started for the sole purpose of hooking up RIA developers and companies looking to hire them. The Naugle Group has a number of openings right now for Flex developers in the Philadelphia and Washington areas, so if you're looking for work, send them your resume. I've also has an email recently from a recruiting company in the Bay Area looking for a Ruby and a Flash / ActionScript developer. Here's a list of Flex job openings from Indeed.com (687 active positions right now). This Flex job trend seems to be accurate.

Recently, as I've been doing presentations on Flex, I've had to update slides that I normally show. One of the slides I normally show is the job trends for Flex based on the numbers at Indeed.com, a job aggregation website. I posted a few months ago about them, but thought that the numbers deserved an updated blog post.

Since the last post, Flex has continued its amazing growth. In fact, not only are the Flex job numbers increasing (above), but the percentage growth of new jobs is also growing (below).

Indeed.com also has results for salary, though I'm not sure how accurate those numbers are.

Hot on the heels of the Comcast Fan 4.0 application that aggregates TV, news comes from PHPDeveloper.org that VH1 is evaluating Flex for a public facing website. VH1 is looking for LAMP developers with knowledge of Python / Ruby, Ajax and / or Flex, according to the job post.

The graph below shows the number of job postings at Indeed.com that contain the term "adobe flex". If you're looking for work, you should probably start learning Flex. Its not unreasonable to assume salaries are going to go in the same direction as the demand.
